On Saturday afternoon, multiple departments responded to a fire at a metal shop in Newton County (MO).

Around 2 p.m., crews from Seneca Fire District, Seneca City Fire, Wyandotte Fire, Redings Mill Fire, and medical personnel from Newton County Ambulance were dispatched to the 3100 block of Jute Road for a structure fire.

As they were on their way they were alerted that it was a working alarm at a large two-story metal shop.

All units were pulled out and the fire was deemed a defensive fire; other crews were dispatched from Joplin Fire, Redings Mill, and Quapaw Nation Fire.

Firefighters battled the fire for more than four hours before finally bringing the flames under control.
