Even Cops Need Heroes

EastCounty Today – Even cops sometimes need heroes… enter firefighters!

On July 10, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters assisted the Antioch Police Department after an officer was locked in the back of a police car. This occurred during a training exercise where officers responded to an incident on a school campus.

The responding officer, locked his keys in the vehicle when he exited to respond to the campus leaving the rookie officer in the backseat.

Firefighters who were on scene of the training incident nearby had her free in under 90-seconds.  And no, this was not part of the training exercise.
