Oakland firefighters have launched a campaign to oppose the closure of six fire stations, a cost-cutting measure to address the city's $129 million budget deficit.
The $2.5 million in grants are going to 118 nationwide public safety organizations and will be put toward the purchase of critical lifesaving equipment.
In order to help fire and EMS departments account for reimbursement costs, FEMA has released an Audit-Related Guidance for Entities Receiving FEMA Public Assistance Funds.
