Rescues at Delaware House Fire, Two Victims in Cardiac Arrest

Tom Mitten – On Tuesday morning at around 8:45 AM, a house fire was reported in the unit block of Norway Avenue in the Elmhurst area of Richardson Park in suburban Wilmington, DE.

Reports also indicated one or more subjects were trapped inside the structure.

First-arriving fire crews confirmed an active fire in the single-story wood frame structure and that one person had escaped but two others were still inside. Firefighters found and removed two persons, both of whom were in cardiac arrest.

Fire, EMS and police personnel began CPR on both victims as soon as they were brought out of the structure.

A total of three occupants were transported to Christiana Hospital in critical condition.
