May 19–Alameda County sheriff’s deputies and firefighters rescued two people from a fire that broke out a single-story residence in San Lorenzo early Wednesday morning, fire officials said.

Both of the people who were rescued went by ambulance to a hospital with fire-related injuries, according to a statement from the Alameda County Fire Department. Deputies rescued one of them from a rear window of the residence, and firefighters rescued the other one.

Their conditions were not known.

The fire happened in the back of the residence on Brandoni Avenue around 2:30 a.m., fire officials said.

A third occupant of the residence got out without help and was OK, fire officials said. Firefighters also rescued an animal.

Overall, four people were displaced from the residence, according to fire officials.
