Firefighter seriously burned in fatal Flatbush apartment fire
BROOKLYN, New York — A total of seven people, including a firefighter, were injured and one person killed in a Brooklyn apartment fire in Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded to the Flatbush apartment building on East 95th Street at approximately 4:55 a.m.
Firefighters found fire on the first floor extending to the second due to an open fire apartment door.
Two people had jumped from the second floor and were found by firefighters.
FDNY Deputy Chief Stephen Moro said firefighters did a rapid search and found a total of seven victims.
One victim died and another is in serious condition.
One firefighter suffered a serious burn to the neck.
