Heavy wrecker used to stabilize a vehicle

On Saturday, February 13 at 1:05 p.m., Miami Dade Fire Rescue responded to a traffic accident on SW 380 Street and Card Sound Road.
Units arrived to find a pickup truck on fire that was pinned between a tree and a guard rail with a patient trapped inside. Crews on scene were able to quickly put the fire out using a fire extinguisher.
Once the fire was out, Engine 16 proceeded to begin the extrication of the patient, with Engine 43, Squad 69 as well as Heavy 1 assisting in extrication efforts.

In order to safely extricate the patient, Technical Rescue Team units stabilized the vehicle.
After a prolonged extrication, the patient was extricated and Rescue 72 transported to the landing zone where Air Rescue airlifted the patient to the nearest trauma center.
