Smokejumper dies from injuries sustained in New Mexico

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Smokejumper/Firefighter Tim Hart, 36, of the West Yellowstone Interagency Fire Center on June 2, 2021.
On Monday, May 24, 2021, Smokejumper/Firefighter Tim Hart was working the Eiks Fire in New Mexico when he was injured. He was taken to the hospital where he remained until his passing on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.
