WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio – WTAP and The Marietta Times report that two people were killed in an accident during a fire in Washington County on Thursday evening.

The Ohio State Patrol says the accident occurred on County Nine Road where a engine/tanker from the Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department was at a structure fire at 1177 County Nine Road.

The state patrol says that William A. Reed, 72, and Karolyn B. Reed, 72, were struck by Williamstown Pumper/Tanker 8 as it was backing up at the scene.

The incident is under investigation.
