Good news in recovery of Kinloch firefighter

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Missouri — KOMV reports good news in the recovery of a Kinloch firefighter critically wounded in a restaurant shooting.

The Kinloch Fire Protection District told KMOV that Firefighter Arlydia Bufford has been taken off a ventilator and is breathing on her own and speaking.

The department also said Firefighter Bufford is alert and aware of what happened.

Bufford was critically wounded during a deadly shooting inside a St. John Applebee’s restaurant last week.

The accused gunman is in custody, but police have not found a connection between him and the three women he shot.
