Michigan to Mandate Firefighter Continuing Education Beginning Late 2022

The State of Michigan Firefighter Training Council will require firefighters to take 36 hours of continue education training every three years to continue to serve as a firefighter.

The new requirement takes effect in October of 2022, the Hillsdale Daily News reports.

Many fire departments in the state already have training requirements that meet or exceed the new standard, but will have to make sure documentation satisfies the requirements.
