Firefighter separated from crew and low on air
MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota — Two firefighters were injured while battling a house fire Saturday in Minneapolis.
WCCO reports that firefighters responded to the 1800 block of Dupont Avenue South at approximately 10:20 a.m. for a house fire.
During fireground operations a mayday was called for a firefighter who was low on air and separated from his crew.
The firefighter was able to get out of the second floor by an aerial ladder.
He and another firefighter were treated for minor injuries and released.
The fire eventually became a three-alarm incident and took two hours to be under control.
In relation to the fire, a driver was injured after being involved in an accident with a fire truck responding to the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
