Indianapolis Firefighters Hurt During House Fire

One firefighter seriously injured

INDIANAPOLIS — Four firefighters were hurt on Monday while batting a house fire, according to RTV6 and the Indianapolis Fire Department.

Firefighters faced flames and hot weather during a fire on Timberfield Lane that took more than 30 minutes to bring under control.

Three firefighters suffered heat exhaustion, and one was seriously affected by heat stroke. All were transported to IU Methodist Hospital for treatment.

A fourth firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion on the scene.

The midday fire displaced a family of six.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
