The medical examiner’s office is still working to determine the cause and manner of their deaths.

Prena, Smile and Parisa were all students in Akron Public Schools, Superintendent Christine Fowler Mack said in a statement Monday.

Fire investigators are still working to determine what caused the fire, which broke out about 12:50 a.m. at the home in the city’s North Hill neighborhood. The home was a total loss, officials say.

The home was immersed in flames when firefighters arrived. A neighbor who attempted to help the family out of the burning home was treated on the scene for injuries. Three other adults and a child were also taken to a hospital for treatment.
