Houston Firefighters Injured in Fall During Apartment Fire

Two hurt in fall from second floor

HOUSTON – KHOU reports that two Houston firefighters were injured Saturday morning during a fire at an apartment complex.

The firefighters were searching for occupants when they fell through the second floor.

Officials told KHOU that due to heavy smoke, the firefighters didn’t notice the floor was missing.

One firefighter suffered a laceration. The other suffered an injured ankle. Both were transported to a local hospital where they are expected to make a full recovery.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
