Voters in Greenville, Penn. next week vote on whether to eliminate the town’s professional fire department and replace it with a volunteer department.
The New Castle News reports the department is staffed with three full-time, seven part-time, and six volunteer firefighters. It handles more than 1,000 calls per year, in addition to the inspectional services it provides.
Past efforts to defund the department have failed. For more information, visit the New Castle News.
