COVID Policy Forces Tucson Fire Station to Close, Response Units Shut Down

The Tucson Fire Fighters Association says one city fire station (Fire Station 6) is shuttered and numerous units are out of service due to staffing shortages brought on by the city’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy.

The city mandates firefighters get vaccinated or face suspension and ultimately termination on December 1. Even before that deadline, the TFAA told KOLD News-13 that shortages of manpower are being felt.
