WASHINGTON (ABC7) – Firefighters from Engine 18 in D.C.’s Barracks Row neighborhood were hungry after returning to the station from battling a blaze Friday night.

When they stopped at a nearby grocery store for their evening meal, they were disappointed to find empty store shelves.

That’s when Celebrity Chef Jose Andres came to the rescue with dinner for the exhausted first responders.

D.C. Fire and EMS used this opportunity to remind folks that ‘Coronavirus hoarding’ only deprives the elderly, first responders, and families with young children from obtaining basic necessities.
