No response to those 911 calls in Citronelle
CITRONELLE, Alabama — First responders in Citronelle will not be responding to 911 calls related to the flu or COVD-19, according to WPMI.
Officials in Citronelle have put in place new measures to protect first responders and the community from the spread of COVID-19.
Police Chief Tyler Norris told WPMI that neither police nor the volunteer fire department rescue squad will respond to 911 calls from people with flu symptoms.
“That’s not an emergency. Just because you have shortness of breath or you have flu symptoms or sneezing or cough or running nose,” Chief Norris told WPMI.
Norris said the health and welfare of the employees is very important when considering the number of personnel.
