The Call

RUCKERSVILLE, Virginia (WWBT) – A new documentary is shining a light on the trauma firefighters experience when responding to emergency calls.

It’s not just fires that cause stress for firefighters. From fatal car crashes to water rescues, firefighters deal with a lot of situations that can put them in danger and often suffer the mental anguish that can come from not being able to make a rescue.

NBC 29 reported the Ruckersville Fire Department was featured in the documentary and one of the firefighters said he had to be hospitalized with hypothermia following a rescue call.
