Sandy Springs (GA) Firefighters and Santa Spread Holiday Cheer at Children’s Hospital

The Sandy Springs Fire Department brought holiday cheer to patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – Scottish Rite with a surprise visit featuring Santa Claus.

Instead of coming down the chimney, firefighters rappelled down the hospital’s exterior, waving to children and their families on each floor and stopping for photos along the way, 11Alive, reports.

Firefighters also delivered gifts and Sandy Springs Fire Department-themed beanies to patients and staff. Adding to the excitement, mascots from Atlanta sports teams, including the Falcons, Braves, and Hawks, joined in, along with Spider-Man.

This marks the third year Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has hosted this event.
