Check Out the Oldest Tower Ladder in the FDNY Fleet – A Responder to 9/11 Still Rolling

The Youtube channel FirstRespondersNY gives a look at Tower Ladder 161.

The ladder is the oldest one active in FDNY, FirstRespondersNY reports. The Seagrave apparatus was purchased in 1999, operating as Tower Ladder 9 in Manhattan. It was buried in rubble and severely damaged when the World Trade Center towers fell on 9/11.

The ladder was stationed at 42 Great Jones Street on 9/11. Ten of the 14 firefighters at that station died on 9/11.

The truck was restored by Seagrave and returned to service. Today, the tower ladder is known as Tower Ladder 161, where it serves as a spare.

Here’s an earlier video from Fdnyrigs shot when the truck was in-service as a Tower Ladder 85 spare.
