Two-Alarm Fire Destroys Minneapolis Day Care, Deli, Auto Repair Business

MINNEAPOLIS– A two-alarm fire in Minneapolis consumed a large commercial building which housed a day care center, deli and auto repair business.

Firefighters continued to extinguish hot spots Thursday at the burned building not far from the University of Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium.

Neighbors were temporarily evacuated as the fire burned overnight. An old 200-foot radio tower tethered to the building toppled during the fire.

Assistant Fire Chief Cherie Penn says no firefighters or civilians were injured.
