Pennsylvania Trooper Shot; Car Rams School Bus

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) – A Pennsylvania State Trooper was shot along I-676 W on Tuesday morning. The trooper was shot in the shoulder and is conscious, alert, talkative, “in good spirits” and in stable condition at Hahnemann Hospital.

The shooting followed a pursuit. Following the shooting, the suspect’s car then rammed into a school bus, which caught on fire. The bus company has confirmed that no children were on the bus at the time of the crash, and that the driver is okay.

Three suspects in the shooting have been apprehended, the shooter and two others. No other suspects are being sought at this time.

According to an alert from PennDOT, due to the incident  Interstate 676 is closed in both directions between Interstate 76 and Interstate 95. Also I-76 West is closed between 30th Street and I-676 and I-76 East is closed between Girard Avenue and 30th Street.
