Firefighters Battling Fire at Coventry, R.I., Home

COVENTRY, R.I.– Firefighters in Coventry are battling a residential fire that broke out Thursday morning and sent two people to the hospital.

Lt. Mike Stevens of the Central Coventry Fire District said the fire on Harkney Hill Road is “still going” and “very, very active.” The department said two people were taken to the hospital. Stevens had no additional information on the extent of their injuries.

Fire officials said the fire started after 8 a.m., and three fire districts in Coventry were responding.
