Cleveland EMS Refuses to Respond to Shooting Victim

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Cleveland.com) – Body camera video released on Friday shows a police officer rushing a man who’d been shot 16 times to a hospital after Cleveland EMS refused to pick him up just across the border in Euclid.

Cleveland city officials are currently conducting an internal investigation to determine if EMS dispatchers or supervisors violated policy when they refused to send an ambulance to pick up the man, who was shot in Cleveland before he drove his SUV across the border into Euclid.

The man survived the Jan. 14 shooting that happened on Pawnee Avenue near East 200th Street. Body camera video released Friday shows Cleveland police officers providing basic emergency medical care while the man writhes in pain on the ground.
