EL DORADO COUNTY, California – The family of a retired firefighter missing since Saturday is asking the public to help find him and bring him home, according to KTXL.

61-year-old Merlin Turner was last seen Saturday evening when he had dinner with his best friend, John Havenhill, in Marysville.

“He came by about seven and we visited, had dinner till about 8:45. We talked about some calls that were bugging him, this COVID situation,” Havenhill told KTXL. “Being cooped up in the house was getting to him. He needed to get out and work out and have some type of release. And since that wasn’t occurring, he was having issues.“

Havenhill said the issues included PTSD from Turner’s years of service as a firefighter.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
