San Antonio, TX, Man Shoots at Family in Pick-Up Truck, Gets Arrested, Faces Charges

A man is in a San Antonio, TX, jail after he shot at a family inside their pickup truck early this morning, reports local12.com.

The incident took place around 1 a.m. Friday near S. New Braunfels Avenue and E. Southcross Boulevard on the Southeast Side.

Police officials say a husband and wife were driving with their baby down Monticello Court when, for no reason, a man on the side of the road opened fire on their vehicle. The family drove to a nearby parking lot off S. New Braunfels Avenue and called for help. The report notes that the driver was hit and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A deputy was sitting in a nearby Dollar General parking lot and heard the shots. He then saw a man running across the street and was able to chase him down, tase him, and take him into custody.

A handgun was found on the suspect, who remains in custody and faces several charges.
