Wisconsin Firefighters Face Wind and No Hydrants at Mansion Fire

Several departments responded to the fire in Grafton

GRAFTON, Wisconsin — Firefighters had to contend with strong winds and a lack of fire hydrants while battling a house fire in Grafton on Wednesday night.

WISN reports that firefighters were dispatched to the blaze on High Bluff Drive at 4:49 p.m. for a report of a fireplace on fire.

Over half of the house was destroyed, according to Grafton Fire Chief William Rice.

Everyone inside the house got out safely. There were no reported injuries.

Firefighters from Cedarburg, Slinger, Thiensville, and North Shore Fire Rescue also responded to the call.
