Bedford Fire Department looks to access water sources

BEDFORD, Virginia — The Bedford Fire Department asked community members for access to water sources in order to install dry hydrants.

In a Facebook post the fire department looked for sources in a list where dry hydrants could be installed.

Dry hydrants are PVC piping installed into reliable water sources such as ponds or rivers.

The Bedford Fire Department said that there are several areas that have no immediate access to water in order to fight fires.
