ST. PAUL, Minnesota — St. Paul firefighters performed a daring rope rescue of a man stranded on a cliff Saturday morning.

FOX 9 reports that firefighters responded to Wabasha Street and Shepard Road for a man stuck on a cliff approximately 100 feet above the Mississippi River.

St. Paul Fire Captain Mike Aspenes told FOX 9 that it is assumed the man was trying to access a cave entrance.

Officials say that they are often called to the area for people trying to use the caves to stay warm.

No one was injured in the rescue operation.
