Each year fire departments respond to dozens of grain bin rescue calls in the United States – many with horrible outcomes. Sixty-two percent of grain bin rescues that are reported result in a fatality.

Now a man has posted a video to TikTok showing what it looks like from a victim’s perspective to be trapped in a grain silo.

The TikTok user Josh (@millwright22) reports that he did get himself out safely from the incident.

“It did suck. But I got out,” he says in a follow-up video. “I’m alive.”

His timing was perfect, as the third week of February is grain bin rescue week, as WGEM reports.
