Serdynski suffered a heart attack in October

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Firefighter Brian Serdynski, 38, of the Union Grove-Yorkville Fire Department on November 2, 2019.

On 10/19/2019, Firefighter Brian Serdynski suffered a heart attack while at the scene of a motor vehicle accident. He was transported to a hospital where he was treated and then released on 10/21/2019. In the very early morning hours on 11/02/2019, Serdynski was having difficulty breathing. First responders from Union Grove-Yorkville and Kansasville fire departments responded to Serdynski’s home and immediately administered medical care. Despite their efforts, Serdynski was pronounced deceased at his home.
