Firefighter Stavinoha suffered a medical emergency

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Firefighter Kenneth Stavinoha, 36, of the Houston Fire Department on September 21, 2019.

While on duty at Houston Fire Department’s Station 27, Firefighter Kenneth Stavinoha suffered a medical emergency and did not survive. The cause of death is pending an autopsy.

Fatality status is provisional and may change as USFA contacts State Fire Marshals to verify fatality incident information.
