
The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty deaths of Firefighter James H. Yiengst, 72, of Keystone Hook and Ladder Co. No.1
Firefighter Yiengst responded with his fire department to a motor vehicle accident (MVA) on the evening of March 31, 2017. The next morning, April 1, 2017, emergency medical services were summoned to his residence. Firefighter Yiengst indicated to one of his family members that he began feeling ill while at the MVA the previous evening. Firefighter Yiengst was treated and transported to the hospital where he passed away from a nature and cause of fatal injury still to be reported.
