The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Captain Guandes “Mook” Smith, 27, of the Sardis Volunteer Fire Department on February 8, 2021.

While on duty, Captain Guandes “Mook” Smith contracted COVID-19 at the fire department. He passed away from the virus during the early morning hours of Monday, February 8, 2021.
