USFA: Kansas On-Duty Death

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Firefighter John Randle, 67, of the Wamego City Fire Department on January 2, 2018.

At 0450hrs, January 1, 2018, the Wamego Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire. Upon completion of the call and after returning to the station, Firefighter John Randle sustained a life threatening injury from a fall while returning fire apparatus to service. Firefighter Randle, was air lifted from Wamego Health Center to Stormont Vail Hospital where on January 2, 2018, Firefighter Randle succumbed to his injuries.
