Upper Saddle River (NJ) Firefighter Dies; Second LODD in Area in Two Weeks

The Upper Saddle River Fire Department announced the line of duty death of Firefighter Alex Moss on Sunday.

Moss, 54, served as a firefighter for more than 30 years.

The department did not release more details of Moss’ untimely death, but asked, “Please keep the Moss family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this tough time.”

Last week another area firefighter, Kevin May of Westwood, was laid to rest. May had experienced chest pains and had difficulty breathing the morning after a five-alarm house fire in Upper Saddle River on Oct. 16.
