A new engine going in service soon in Missouri
Pierce Manufacturing – Traditionally, the Union Fire Protection District chose the Quantum cab, Detroit Diesel engine, and a two-stage pump. For the first time with their new 1,000-gallon pumper, they chose the Impel cab, 450 hp Cummins engine and a single stage pump.
For an overall perspective on the scene, the department continues to go with a top mount pump panel. This gives the operator a visual on both sides of the truck for effective scene operation. Showing off the local high school pride, the apparatus features the school’s theme and colors. The SCBA doors are latched with recessed D-ring handles.
