Atascocita firefighters responded to an explosion Friday afternoon and found a man had severely burned himself when a plastic gasoline can that he was using to light his barbecue exploded.
The incident happened at about 2:20 p.m. on Sports Haven Drive in the Sportsman Village Walden on Lake Houston neighborhood, KHOU reports.
The victim was transported to Hermann Memorial Hospital via LifeFlight with burns on his face, chest, arms and legs.
Minor damage to a gazebo was the only other reported damage from the explosion.
