Akron (OH) House Explodes After Firefighters Make Entry During Fire; Two Firefighters Hurt

Moments after Akron firefighters made entry while fighting a house fire, an explosion rocked the building injuring two firefigihters.

The Fire Department responded to the home on Winton Avenue around 2:30 a.m. When they arrived they had a report of a person in the home.

That’s when the decision was made to send firefighters inside.

The two injured firefighters were taken to the hospital, and they are fine.

The report of a victim trapped appears to be erroneous. The fire destroyed the house.
