
Investigation of robberies in
Skiatook and Sperry

TULSA, Oklahoma — KIRO reports that Tulsa Fire Department Captain Jerry Brown has been reportedly arrested as authorities investigate a series of bank robberies.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed that a person associated with the department was arrested following an investigation into bank robberies in Skiatook and Sperry.
KOKI reported that the Tulsa Police Department detained Captain Brown at a fire facility, and the Skiatook Police Department took him into custody in connection with a March bank robbery in Skiatook.
Tulsa Fire Department spokesman Andy Little confirmed Brown is employed with the department and has been arrested.
Brown has been a part of the department for 17 years and will be placed on administrative leave.
“Today, the Tulsa Fire Department learned that Jerry Brown was under investigation and subsequently arrested by the Skiatook Police Department at approximately 1700 hrs. Brown was arrested on charges of bank robbery, and knowingly concealing stolen property.
“The charges stem from allegations relating to two robberies. The first robbery being investigated took place at Oklahoma Capitol Bank in Skiatook, Oklahoma, on March 12, 2020. The second robbery took place at the Exchange Bank in Sperry, Oklahoma. Skiatook police, Sperry police, Tulsa Police Department and the FBI are involved in the investigations.
“Brown was hired in 2002 and has been employed by the city for over 17 years. He currently serves in the rank of captain and will be placed on administrative leave.
“The Tulsa Fire Department takes allegations of this kind very seriously and is fully committed to working with law enforcement as they continue to investigate this matter.
