Trappe Fire Chief Branden Sisca was one of two state troopers killed Monday morning in an automobile accident.

Sisca and Trooper Martin F. Mack, a seven-year veteran of the state police, had stopped to assist a man who was walking along the southbound lane of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia at about 12:40 a.m., state police said. That’s when another motorist struck and killed the two officers and the civilian they were assisting.

Police are investigating the incident as drunk driving accident. Sisca had served as a trooper for about one year.
