Thousands of Firefighters Head to Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (RTV6) – More than 30,000 firefighters from around the world packed downtown Indianapolis on Monday for the annual Fire Department Instructors Conference.

The firefighters will spend all week learning the latest in firefighting technology in an expo held at the expanded Indiana Convention Center and the floor of Lucas Oil Stadium.

City tourism officials said the FDIC is one of the top five most lucrative conventions that Indianapolis hosts, bringing a $30 million economic impact to the Circle City, RTV6’s Tanya Spencer reported.
