RINGGOLD, Texas — The Times Record News reports that a Texas firefighter was killed while responding to a fire on Wednesday.

Duncan Cameron Henderson, a member of the Ringgold Volunteer Fire Department, was killed when his pickup truck overturned while responding to a grass fire.

The Texas Department of Public Safety tells Times Record News that Henderson, 65, was responding to the fire station just after 9:00 p.m. Tuesday when he lost control of his vehicle and it overturned.

Henderson was not located until four hours later when first responders from Nocona Rural and Ringgold fire departments along with Nocona EMS were alerted to the crash at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Travelling at a high speed was noted. Henderson was also wearing his seatbelt.
