
Plano Fire Engineer did not show up at shift change

McKINNEY, Texas — Plano Fire-Rescue is mourning the loss of one of their firefighters.
CBSDFW reports that Plano Fire-Rescue Fire Engineer Brent Cuba was found deceased in his home in McKinney.
Fire Engineer Cuba was expected to show up at Station 4 for the 6:30 a.m. shift change but he did not.
Attempts to reach him ended with a department employee going to Cuba’s home. After knocks on the door went unanswered McKinney Police were called to the house.
Police forced entry into the home and found Cuba’s body.
No foul play is expected, and the body was taken to the Collin County Medical Examiner’s office by fire department personnel for an autopsy.
Fire Engineer Cuba, 43, started his fire service career in 2001 with the DeSoto Fire Department. He was hired by Plano Fire-Rescue in 2006 and was promoted to Fire Engineer in 2013.
Cuba is survived by his father, two sisters, and two adult children.
