Texas Fire Chief Dies from Gunshot Wound

Nolanville fire chief died from suicide

NOLANVILLE, Texas — The chief of the Nolanville volunteer fire department died on Tuesday after a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

KWTX reports that Central Bell County Fire Rescue Chief Jason Worsdale shot himself on Tuesday morning.

Chief Worsdale died while in the intensive care unit of a local hospital.

A vigil was held for Worsdale Tuesday evening at the fire department’s main station.

The Nolanville Volunteer Fire Department became part of the Central Bell County Fire Rescue department in 2010.

The department has a staff of 40 firefighters and paramedics providing 24-hour service in three shifts.
