Tennessee Firefighter Killed, Others Injured in House Fire

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. — One firefighter was killed and two others injured while on the scene of a house fire in Lawrence on Monday evening.

The fire began at approximately 4:30 p.m. at a home on Hood Lakes Road in Lawrence County. Lawrenceburg firefighters and firefighters from other departments responded to the scene.

According to The Daily Herald a mayday was called at around 8:00 p.m.  A roof collapse had occurred and trapped three firefighters.

The injured firefighters were transported to Southern Regional Hospital.

The Tennessee Fire and Codes Enforcement Academy has identified the fallen firefighter as Jason Dickey.  His body was transported by police escort to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Nashville.
