Taylor (TX) Volunteer Fire Department Chief Charged with Stealing $317,000 from Department

The former chief of the Taylor Volunteer Fire Department has been charged with stealing $317,000 from a bank account he opened in the department’s name.

Billy Dale Hughes Jr. has been charged with first-degree felony theft, FOX 7 reports.

Prosecutors charge Hughes with taking money from the department account as far back as 2014 to pay for personal expenses.
