Stolen Rig, Missing Batteries, and Ambulance Accident Hobbles Steven County (WA) Department

If bad luck comes in threes, Stevens County firefighters can breathe a sigh of relief. It’s had its share of troubles for a while.

Stevens County Fire Department No. 2 recently discovered its firehouse had been broken into and its brush truck had been stolen. In addition, the radio, batteries and other gear had been stripped from its main truck.

Adding insult to injury, the county ambulance had a run-in with a driver who’s now been charged with operating under the influence hit the vehicle. Police say the driver was apparently upset that the ambulance wasn’t going fast enough.
